04 Jun 2024 --- The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) have taken further steps to protect farm workers against the outbreak of the H5N1 virus that is affecting dairy cattle. Although the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) continues to assess that the risk to the general public is low, farmworkers who work “closely with infected animals” are at a higher risk of infection.
